FAQs: Fidelity Go?
Who manages my money?
The day‐to‐day investment and trading decisions in your Fidelity Go? account will be handled by Strategic Advisers LLC, a registered investment adviser and a Fidelity Investments company.
What kind of investments can I expect in my account?
Your account will primarily hold a combination of Fidelity FlexSM mutual funds. These funds generally hold domestic stocks, foreign stocks, bonds, or short-term investments. Flex Funds are a line-up of Fidelity mutual funds that have zero expense ratios, and include proprietary active and passive funds. Flex Funds are currently available only to certain fee-based accounts offered by Fidelity, like Fidelity Go?.
Unlike many other mutual funds, the Flex Funds do not charge management fees or, with limited exceptions, fund expenses. Instead, a portion of the advisory fee you pay is allocated to access the Flex Funds in which your account will be invested.
How are the investments chosen for my account?
In selecting mutual funds for Fidelity Go? accounts, Strategic Advisers LLC may look at multiple factors, including but not limited to investment philosophy (whether the funds are actively or passively managed), risk and return characteristics (how closely the security tracks an underlying index), assets under management, and tax efficiency. The Fidelity FlexSM Funds or number of Flex Funds in which your account invests may change over time depending on the investment strategy you select.
Can I choose my own investments?
You may not buy and sell individual investments in your Fidelity Go? account. By enrolling in a managed account service like Fidelity Go? you turn the day-to-day management of your investments over to a team of investment professionals. However, you are entitled to place reasonable restrictions on the management of your account. Please contact an investment professional at 800-343-3548 for additional details.
Can I change my investment strategy?
Yes, you can change your investment strategy at any time to any of the suitable options, based on info provided in your account profile. When you make changes to the information we have on file or provide additional information, we may suggest a different investment strategy for your account. To make these kinds of changes, log in to your Fidelity Go? account summary.
Can I add funds to my account?
Yes, you can add funds at any time.
Can I withdraw funds from my account?
Yes, there are several ways to access your funds, including scheduled withdrawals.
How much do I need to open an account?
While there's no minimum deposit required to open an account, your account must have at least $10 in it before we can start investing for you.
How much does it cost?
We charge an annual gross advisory fee of 0.35% of the value of your account. The only additional expenses you pay associated with the mutual funds held in your account will be for certain expenses of the core position for your account, the Fidelity? Government Cash Reserves Fund (FDRXX*). To the extent some of these underlying fund expenses will be paid to us, that amount will be credited against the gross advisory fee by a "variable fee credit."
You could lose money by investing in a money market fund. Although the fund seeks to preserve the value of your investment at $1.00 per share, it cannot guarantee it will do so. An investment in the fund is not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or any other government agency. Fidelity Investments and its affiliates, the fund’s sponsor, have no legal obligation to provide financial support to money market funds and you should not expect that the sponsor will provide financial support to the fund at any time.
Fidelity’s government and U.S. Treasury money market funds will not impose a fee upon the sale of your shares, nor temporarily suspend your ability to sell shares if the fund's weekly liquid assets fall below 30% of its total assets because of market conditions or other factors.
Before investing in any mutual fund or exchange-traded fund, you should consider its investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses. Contact Fidelity for a prospectus, offering circular or, if available, a summary prospectus containing this information. Read it carefully.
Keep in mind that investing involves risk. The value of your investment will fluctuate over time, and you may gain or lose money.
Diversification and asset allocation do not ensure a profit or guarantee against loss.
